15 Hilariously Awful SyFy Original Movies
14. Stonehenge Apocalypse
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sh7UUg4RTEAIn Stonehenge Apocalypse, which for some reason Misha Collins agreed to be in, archeologists discover an electromagnetic pulse originating from Stonehenge. It was apparently placed there by aliens, who plan to use it to destroy the world and take over the planet. Makes sense.
It's essentially a disaster movie, except this is the bargain basement, so don't expect anything more than the camera shaking a lot and some horrific CGI. When Stonehenge is supposed to be moving, it looks like someone just took a picture of Stonehenge and dragged each stone around in Photoshop.
Misha Collins' performance is pretty hilarious, and you have to imagine he agreed to be here because he knew how cheesy and funny the script was.
The film is full of those usually great SyFy lines, like Collins shouting "It was a robot head" during a key moment in the last act. There's also plenty of questionable science, like when they "decode" the electromagnetic waves to discover a countdown clock.
If you're wondering how it ends, Jacob discovers a mechanism that thankfully can magically stop everything, and he activates it just before a nuke was to go off and destroy stonehenge. Jacob dies in the explosion though, truly a self-sacrifice to be remembered for all of time.
