15 Horror Movies Since 2000 So Awful They'e Genuinely Horrifying

8. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

The Devil Inside
Paramount

The Plot:

It's exactly the same as the other Paranormal Activity films. This time, we see the entity for the first time and finally get some answers.

Why It Sucks:

Paranormal Activity was a terrible film that somehow became a hit and spawned a franchise; the third film is alright, but everything else should be skipped. The franchise outdid itself with its last film and delivered the worst of the bunch.

This promised to give answers and show the activity for the first time, but it doesn't deliver on either front. The ghosts are rendered in terrible, scare-free CGI while there are barely any answers to the franchise's mythology at all. Katie, the most important character of the series, doesn't even appear.

This is a factory product with no artistry, human though, intelligence and wit and designed only to make money and nothing else. Worst of all, it simply couldn't be less scary and cements the position of the Paranormal Activity franchise as possibly the worst horror franchise of all time. At least most other horror franchises have one genuinely good installment.

Hopefully the franchise will never return, but with Hollywood you never know.
