15 Horror Movies Since 2000 So Awful They'e Genuinely Horrifying

The Devil Inside

The Plot:

Based on the board game of the same name, It's the usual tale of evil spirits but this time involving a Ouija board.

Why It Sucks:

This is a rare example of a movie that's literally zero-effort. With no clever twists, genuine thrills, unique visuals, big scares or memorable moments, this is one of the laziest films imaginable.

This does have one useful function though: it's a display of everything wrong with modern studio horror films in one movie. It has a PG-13 rating which ensure it's overly tame, it's got horrible acting, too many jump scares, no emotional context and it's also a plot we've seen hundreds of times before. This would work well as a list of problems with modern horror, a checklist of ghost movie cliches and also as a cure for insomnia. On every other level, this is a film which redefines how useless a movie can be.

The prequel might have been a major improvement, but no amount of awesome follow-ups could wash away the stain of such a terrible stinker. The only reason this isn't higher is because it's too bland to leave much of an impression.
