If there were an article written celebrating the best sixth movies in a series, Curse Of Chucky would surely be up there at the top of the pile. Despite sneaking straight onto Blu-ray and DVD, the film was good fun, building on the mythology of the series while also delivering some gory set pieces.

Thankfully, helmer Don Mancini has been given yet another stab at his horror baby, putting together a new chapter that centres again around doomed heroine, Nica, who is locked up following the events of Curse. This time she is being plagued by both Chucky and his mental Mrs, Tiffany, in the confines of a mental asylum.

Better still, where Mancini had previously teased the return of Alex Vincent as the now not-so-little Andy by way of a surprising post credit sequence, Chucky’s former plaything is now a bona fide cast member, a whole twenty-seven years on since he last put pay to Chucky. Expect blood, revelations and lots of Brad Dourif’s cackle.
