15 Huge 2020 Movies That Have Snuck Under The Radar
7. The Gentlemen
To say Guy Ritchie's career has been weird would be an understatement. The director got his start making cutting-edge British gangster films, before eventually being swept up in the Hollywood system to take on blockbusters like Sherlock Holmes.
For the past five years or so though, what a Guy Ritchie film "is" has become more and more unclear, with flicks like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and the upcoming Aladdin being rather perplexing matches for the director.
However, in between these studio projects, he's been working on something more in line with his earliest films. The Gentlemen (known as Toff Guys until recently), is being envisioned as returning to the same aesthetic as Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, with Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell, and current Guy Ritchie muse Charlie Hunnam all on board.
Wether the director still has it after all these years is unclear, but for now you shouldn't rule out The Gentlemen.
