Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient express wasn't a smash-hit with either critics or audiences, but a $350million box-office haul meant a sequel was inevitable, and the writer, director and producer immediately got to work on adapting another Agatha Christie classic, Death on the Nile.

Brannagh is back in the director's chair and will once again be donning that ridiculous moustache as Poirot for the sequel which, allegedly, might be looking to kickstart a cinematic universe based on the character, because of course it is.

Still, Murder was a fun enough flick, and if the filmmakers can deliver that style once again with a tighter script that addresses the shortcomings of the previous movie, Death of the Nile could surprise everyone when it drops next October.
