15 Insufferable Horror Movie Characters You Secretly WANTED To Die
4. Detective Matt Gibson - Saw 3D
The Saw franchise, since it is about a murderer who punishes people he believes have misused their lives, is full of scummy characters, so any of them being the most unlikable is a big statement. So, who's the biggest D-bag in Saw history?
Ignoring secondary villains like Saw II's Xavier, Saw IV's Ivan and Jigsaw' Anna, that title goes to Saw 3D's Detective Matt Gibson.
As the main law enforcement character in the movie he's supposed to be the good guy, but he's genuinely less likeable than Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor), the film's actual villain.
A shouty, rude, obnoxious, immature and incompetent character who acts like a stroppy teenager and speaks to everyone else as if they were turds he's picked off his shoe, Gibson is made even more intolerable by actor Chad Donella's horrifically awful performance, which is one of the worst performances in any recent horror film.
Eventually Gibson does get taken down by a machine gun trap in Jigsaw's lair, so we'll never have to put up with him again. Let's be thankful for small mercies.
