15 Likely Movie Sequels That Hopefully Will Never Happen
7. Saw VIII
Previous Movies: In 2004, a $1.2 million horror film called Saw came out of nowhere and grossed an insane $103 million, kick-starting an annual series of horror flicks that continued until 2010's seventh film, Saw 3D. Despite earned mixed-to-negative reviews across the board, the series raked in $873 million over its tenure, against a combined $64 million budget. The Sequel: While its best box office days were well behind it by the time Saw 3D hit cinemas, there has been talk recently of resurrecting the franchise with another sequel, with series creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell claiming that they already have a great story ready to go. Saw producers have since claimed that the movie may roll out for a 2016 release. Why It Should Never Happen: Because after seven Saw movies, the series finally came to its belated conclusion in amusingly absurd style, and that really feels like the end of it. If Lionsgate wants to reboot the series with a new villain, then that would make much more sense, but to continue Dr. Gordon's story as a new Jigsaw would be stupid: the story is done and dusted. If Saw VIII happens, how long will it be before Saw XI: Saw in Space ends up on VOD?
