Though this year's show wasn't full of skit-based segments like previous ceremonies, there was a great sequence in which Harris got locked out of his own dressing room during a costume change, mimicking a sequence from Best Picture winner Birdman. As Harris ended up walking around in his tighty whities backstage, the signature Birdman drum score began playing, before the shot paned to show Whiplash's Miles Teller drumming away, in one of the show's best gags. Harris then made his way out onto the stage in his white pants, a brave move that was widely applauded by the extremely amused audience.
