The Showdown: Arthur (Graham Chapman) and Bedevere (Terry Jones) find Castle Aaargh overrun by the very same obnoxious French soldiers they met earlier on, and as such prepare their army to storm the castle.

The Anti-Climax: Just as Arthur and his men charge towards the castle, a modern-day police force shows up and starts arresting the knights for the murder of the historian previously in the movie.

While this might catch you totally off-guard on a first viewing, it is definitely a hilarious hallmark of the movie, keeping in step with the surreal tone even if the abrupt ending was actually a necessity due to budget constraints.

Sure, it could've ended with an actual, silly fight scene, but this bonkers finale has its own outrageous charm that's difficult to deny.
