12. The Great Gatsby
This is a film I am genuinely excited about. After delay, after delay, after delay, The Great Gatsby is finally being released in 2013. Initially due to be released last christmas, this film stars the ever improving Leonardo DiCaprio in a lead role, which immediately gives the film a box office hit status. Upcoming British star, Carey Mulligan, and star of Spiderman, make up the rest of the cast. It is to be directed by the Australian Baz Luhrmaan and After seeing his Romeo + Juliet in 1996, I have full confidence that he will be able to do this classic Fitzegerald novel the justice it deserves. The story entails Nick Carraway, (Tobey Maguire) a mid-westerner, moving to West Egg where he meets a mysterious man of the name James Gatsby (Leanardo DiCaprio) and becomes fascinated with his lavish lifeystle. Nick becomes drawn into Gatsby's tragic world which ulitmately has tragic consequences.
