1. Thanos (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
The most anticipated villain of any in upcoming comic book movies has to be Thanos. Of course, we've already caught a glimpse of the Mad Titan in the end credits of the Avengers movie (played by the relatively unknown actor Damion Poitier) and he was regularly alluded to during the movie itself, but we can't wait to see him in his full glory in future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies - whichever instalments he may appear in. Thanos will, of course, first appear in next year's Guardians of the Galaxy movie, working alongside the likes of Ronan the Accuser and Korath (previous entrants on this very list), but how big a part he will play remains to be seen. It is also not yet known who will play him, as Poitier is not set to reprise the role. Thanos possesses superhuman strength and durability which dwarves that of even Hulk and Thor, as well as a whole host of esoteric powers such as telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, energy manipulation and matter transmutation. If he is anything like his comic book portrayal when he appears properly on the big screen, he will be a massive threat to the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
