15 Most Critically Adored Films 2016 - Ranked
7. Finding Dory
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 94% (260 reviews)
Disney-Pixar’s long-awaited sort of sequel, sort of spinoff to 2003’s Finding Nemo was released this summer to huge success, raking in a massive $1.028 billion worldwide and ranking not only as the second highest grossing film of the year but Disney’s third highest grossing animation too.
All that money is nice, but without sparkling reviews to back it up it doesn’t mean much. Though thankfully for Disney Finding Dory was as much as critical success as it was a financial success.
Elle DeGeneres returned to voice the forgetful fish as she embarks on a mission to find her long-lost parents alongside familiar faces Nemo and Marlin and a host of new characters including Hank, a cantankerous seven-legged octopus and one of Pixar’s most complex animated characters to date. Just like Finding Nemo did over decade ago, it’s hotly tipped to scoop the Best Animated Feature at the 2017 Oscars.
