15 Most Disappointing Movies Of 2016

2. Passengers

Passengers Chris Pratt Jennifer Lawrence
Columbia Pictures

With director Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) helming a classy sci-fi starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, Passengers was on most Oscar watchers' predictions list for major honours in 2017.

Then it came out, and Passengers was a tonally confused, if visually impressive, mess. Lawrence and Pratt give surprisingly off-key performances, likely a result of a studio who threw them together simply because they're the two hottest actors working today.

Ultimately, though, Passengers is sabotaged by some morally creaky moments that the film doesn't address in a remotely satisfying way, mistaking creepiness for romance, and letting a certain character off the hook far too easily.

Also, what was up with Andy Garcia's two-second cameo?
