15 Most Disappointing Movies Of The 2020s (So Far)

2. Fast & Furious 9

All that waiting... for this.

Filled with un-threatening villains, unfunny comedy, ill-judged action, messy writing and perhaps worst of all, nauseating emotional melodrama that simply couldn't have felt more forced, as action movies go Fast & Furious 9 is a complete car-wreck. And damn, do you hate to see it.

The Fast and Furious series definitely isn't for everyone but for what they are, these movies (specifically, everything since 2011's Fast Five) are bloody good. Not only do they offer some of the most enjoyably ridiculous action in modern cinema, but they've also got bucket-loads of charm, comedy and charisma and they largely get the tone exactly right.

As such, by going against everything that made the last five F&F movies work with its lazy script, misjudged tone and tension-free action, Fast & Furious 9 has completely killed the franchise's winning streak.

And Fast X already undergoing a troubled production, it seems like a return-to-form might not be on the cards anytime soon.

This one was arguably the most disappointing film of 2021, but of the decade so far? Well, not quite. There is something even worse...
