15 Most Disturbing Horror Movies Ever
7. Deadgirl
Slow, hard-to-watch, and often deeply uncomfortable, it’s a surprise to say that Deadgirl stars teen heart throb Shiloh Fernandez who you might recognize from fare like 2011’s Twilight wannabe Red Riding Hood or, er, a Selena Gomez music video. However the actor did also make an appearance in 2013’s Evil Dead reboot, so the inclusion of this hardcore horror isn’t too big a shock for his CV.
Deadgirl follows a pair of teenagers who encounter the titular undead woman bound in an asylum and proceed to use her as a sex slave, with the film depicting the resultant necrophilia and rape in unsparing terms. Deadgirl serves as disquieting depiction of misogyny’s dehumanization of women, and as the film continues it becomes clear that the protagonists are its amoral villains, leaving little levity or hope to escape this horrifically dark and painfully explicit morality tale.
