1. The Irishman
Even decades on, Martin Scorsese continues to make incredible movies and he's following up the excellent Silence with his long-gestating The Irishman with Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro. It's been in planning stages for years, with that cast in mind, but it's taken Netflix to give him the required budget - which they're probably the only ones who would fund his passion project right now - to get it off the ground.
This is not a movie that's just been dumped on Netflix because it wasn't wanted elsewhere: it's a statement of intent by the streamers. Alongside that amazing top-line cast, we'll see supporting roles by Anna Paquin, Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, Jack Huston and Stephen Graham among many, many others and the simple fact of Scorsese returning to gangster film-making for the tale of Jimmy Hoffa's assassination is exciting alone.
It's almost certainly going to be worth the wait.
