15 Most Heart-Wrenching Moments In MCU History
7. More Machine Than (Wo)man - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
Nebula and Gamora have a pretty realistic sibling relationship. They both are drive into conflict by their overbearing, abusive father. One of them is bald. Both of them wield guns bigger than a tank. Normal relationship.
But, as hard as it might be to remember at this point, Nebula and Gamora's relationship wasn't even really shown until Guardians Vol. 2. Back in the first film, Nebula was more of a random villain working with Ronan. It wasn't until her attack on Gamora on Ego that we saw that her drive, her hate, wasn't all that motivated her.
As she screamed that all she wanted was a sister, as she let everyone know that the machines ripping her body apart (quite literally in Infinity War) were put there because of Gamora beating her, over and over, it was impossible to not have your heart - mechanical or not - ripped out and smashed to a bleeding pulp.
But then Infinity War came and we saw her torment first hand. She was literally ripped into pieces, frozen in torment, and it wasn't even about her; Thanos just did it to motivate his favorite daughter.
Her mechanical nature even led to the return of Thanos in Endgame. It's a scar that will never go away, like Iron Man's original arc reactor, but in every single part of her.
