15 Most Hilariously Inaccurate Movie Titles

10. Almost Any Horror Movie With "Final" Or "Last" In The Title

What Everyone Expected: The Final Destination. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. The Last Exorcism. What do all of these titles have in common? They suggest a certain sense of finality about themselves: they're the end of a series of events, or in the case of The Last Exorcism, imply a standalone movie and nothing else. What Actually Happened: Final Destination released another sequel just two years later and another sequel or a reboot is likely, Friday the 13th had six more sequels in the original series (including "The Final Friday", which also wasn't the last one), A Nightmare on Elm Street released New Nightmare just three years after Freddy's Dead, and The Last Exorcism...wasn't. Yes, someone actually had the gall to use the highly imaginative and totally coherent sequel title, The Last Exorcism: Part II for the follow-up. That's horror movies for you, though: they promise a solid end-point, but when the money comes pouring in, they can't resist but go back on their word and milk the cash cow until it's a dried out, withered husk. What They Should Have Been Called: Uh, Final Destination 4, Friday the 13th: Tommy vs. Jason, Freddy's (Not) Dead: The (Not) Final Nightmare, and the highly unoriginal yet decidedly more honest The Exorcism of Nell Sweetzer.
