15 Most Obscure Comic Books That Were Turned Into Movies

13. Dark Town

Dark Town is a Canadian graphic novel published by Mad Monkey Press beginning in 1995. A bizarre tale, it centers on a man named Jacques who is in a coma after a car accident who wakes up in a strange world called, as you may have guessed, Dark Town. Villains in this strange world set out to use Jacques' body as a vessel to get into the normal world. But Jacques has a weapon against them - his imagination...which he can carry around in a red suitcase.

The book ended on a cliffhanger, as it was intended to be the first part of a series. However, none of the planned sequels have been published.

A feature film entitled Monkeybone that was loosely based on Dark Town was released in 2001. Despite boasting an ensemble cast of big names, led by Brendan Fraser, the movie found little favor with critics or audiences.

I like to think I'm a clever person, but apparently I'm not clever enough to come up with a witty biography.
