15 Movies You Won’t Believe Are 10 Years Old

12. No Country For Old Men

Thanks to the intensity of Javier Bardem's performance as the instantly, irresistibly terrifying Anton Chigurh, the character has taken on such added importance that he's almost a meme in his own right. He has appeared in The Simpsons, he was the subject of an excellent SNL skit and weirdest of all, he inspired Chris Jericho's heelish behaviour in WWE.

Perhaps because of that, it's surprising he's been committed to the big screen now for a decade.

And it's not only Chigurh's importance that does. You'd almost be forgiven for thinking that the Coen Brothers' neo-Western belongs to the more recent fascination period in Hollywood for revisionist cowboy flicks that also birthed the likes of Bone Tomahawk, The Revenant, The Hateful Eight and Hell Or High Water.

In fact, the film belongs to the earlier pocket of modern Westerns from a decade ago that took in Seraphim Falls, 3:10 to Yuma, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and There Will Be Blood. And yes, they're all really 10 as well.
