15 Perfect Superhero Casting Choices Wasted On Terrible Comic Book Movies

8. Amy Adams As Lois Lane - Man Of Steel

Amy Adams is one of the most talented actors currently plying her trade in Hollywood, and yet somehow - through some incredible injustice - she has been completely and utterly wasted as Lois Lane in the DCEU.

Adams looks, walks and talks the part, but she's given the square-root of nothing to do in either Man of Steel, Batman V Superman or even Justice League. She just sort of wanders around from scene to scene couriering information and occasionally making love eyes with Superman who, even then, is completely wasted too.

In truth, the lost potential of the DCEU - at least during its formative years - is exemplified by the treatment of Henry Cavill's Superman and Adams' Lois. The former had the potential to be just as bright and inventive as his two immediate predecessors, and yet was left to languish in a monochromatic black hole with nothing but Frank Miller's interpretation to inform the character's depiction.

The latter, on the other hand, just didn't have anything to do apart from be Superman's love interest. Her investigative journalism merely serves as a vehicle for the Man of Steel to intervene (a long-running trope regardless), and with the future of the Superman series up in the air, it remains to be seen if Adams will ever reprise the part of Lois again.
