15 Problems Only Film Fans In 2016 Would Understand
12. Trailers Now Have Teasers For Themselves
An irritating habit that all major movie studios began taking up this year was the "pre-trailer commercial", wherein a movie trailer is accompanied by a 5-10 second montage showing off a few high-octane shots from the trailer.
The logic here is that, on YouTube, the trailer may be ran as an advert before another video, and in order to stop people from clicking the "skip" button, they try to cram as many action-packed money shots into those precious seconds as possible.
This results in trailers being loaded with essentially teaser trailers for themselves, a meta-commercial that, in this instant access, ADD-infused age, proves quite infuriating, especially as it's simply a barrage of images without the context of a two-minute trailer.
