5. Morbius

Once again: a hellish production (usually) = cinematic dud.

Once Morbius finally limped into cinemas nearly three years after it was meant to come out - thanks not only to COVID-19, but also to a tumultuous post-production - most of those who actually bothered to go and see it were probably expecting a passable B-movie at best.

What they actually got was one of the worst superhero movies ever to be released in cinemas.

If one was asked to list superhero movies worse than Morbius, they'd probably be able to count them on one hand. Seriously, movies like Green Lantern, Batman Forever, Suicide Squad and even the Tim Story-helmed Fantastic Four films are looking down on Morbius and laughing.

A film butchered in the edit if there ever was one, Morbius is a meaningless, shapeless and stunningly unintelligent car crash that genuinely feels like it has at least half an hour of footage missing. And the worst thing of all? So many talented people were squandered on this.

Morbius did give us an excellent Matt Smith performance complete with an incredibly funny dance scene (seriously, what is it with superhero films and cringey dances?), as well as all those memes, but other than that, there really weren't many positives to this one - and it's likely Sony would just prefer you to forget it.

And before you ask, no. "It's Morbin' time!" is never actually said in this movie.
