Call Me By Your Name is the film that made the world fall in love with Timothée Chalamet. Released in 2017, this coming-of-age drama stars Chalamet and Armie Hammer as Elio and Oliver, respectively. The relationship that develops between these two characters one summer, changes their lives forever.

It's hardly news that Call Me By Your Name performed particularly well during awards season. It was nominated for 4 prestigious Academy Awards - although it only took home best adapted-screenplay. That being said, Call Me By Your Name won 111 of its 265 nominations throughout the season which is incredibly impressive.

Call Me By Your Name is well-praised for its depiction of the central homosexual relationship. LGBTQ+ stories are gaining exposure in film but it's unfortunately, a gradual shift. Call Me By Your Name is one of the films leading that change. With a rumoured sequel on the way, it could continue to do so.
