9. The Ticking Clock Was Recorded From Christopher Nolan's Own Pocket Watch - Dunkirk

One of the most distinctive elements of Christopher Nolan's excellent war epic Dunkirk is the presence of a constantly ticking clock, as part of Hans Zimmer's stirring musical score.
Fascinatingly, when Nolan first sent Zimmer the script, he also included a recording of one of his windup pocket watches, which Zimmer then manipulated with synthesisers in order to create ticking distinctive sounds across the entire score.
Every time Nolan and Zimmer collaborate, the results are something special, and with such unique, personal touches like this, it's little surprise why Zimmer deems it their most intimate work together to date.
