A key plot point of Edgar Wright's ludicrously entertaining heist romp is that protagonist Baby (Ansel Elgort) suffers from severe tinnitus, and so routinely listens to music in order to drown it out.

Wright doesn't stop simply by telling the audience this, though: if you watch the movie yourself with headphones, you'll be able to notice that, whenever music isn't playing, a faint ringing sound can be heard, intended to mimic the way the world sounds to Baby.

It's a clever flourish of sound design that's noticeable yet not prevalent enough to be obnoxious or make viewing the film an irritation. Bravo.
