13. Hermione Gets Completely Legless

To this day, the character of Grawp still has many Potter fans baffled as to why he was shoehorned into the story. Sure, Hagrid needed something to do after Dolores Umbridge dismissed him from his role as Care of Magical Creatures professor but surely there were other things J. K. Rowling could have thought up? Right?

We can't change it now so let's just roll with it. Grawp is Hagrid's half brother and makes his home within the Forbidden Forest during the events of The Order of the Phoenix. His limited communication skills make it difficult for Harry and co. to really get to know the giant but the CGI behind Grawp's scenes in the movie proved even more complicated.

For the most part, the CGI is pretty good and Grawp blends into his surroundings quite well but the green screen work the actors were required to do in order to complete the scenes weren't anywhere near as seamless.

During Hermione's introduction to Grawp, the giant grabs hold of the young witch and raises her into the air to get a better a look but pausing this scene at the right moment reveals that Hermione's ankles were cut out of the frame completely.

For a film series so reliant on CGI, this is a massive gaff.
