15 Stupid Star Wars Movie Mistakes You Probably Missed
6. Amidala’s Dress Needs Power - The Phantom Menace
There were a lot of major differences in how the prequel and original trilogies were made. For instance, George decided to focus more on CGI and special effects, particularly for the more ambitious locations and battles of the films. These changes garnered a mixed reception from fans, but in some cases, the effects have not aged well.
But there were some parts of the prequels that earned it much praise by fans. One such element was the costume design of Queen Amidala. No matter what the occasion, she would always steal the spotlight with her various dresses and robes that would be fit for any real monarch.
Her most iconic dress of all was her red throne room robe. One particular feature of this costume that caught the audience's attention was the glowing orange orbs at the bottom of the robe, but it was unfortunately for the wrong reasons.
As the Queen is looking through a window at the oncoming droid army, you can see a black power cable running along the floor towards her dress in order to light up the orange orbs.
Maybe she should have picked something more functional.
