15 Terrible Looking 2015 Movies That Will Shockingly Make A Profit

5. Jem & The Holograms

Why It Looks Terrible: Jon M. Chu (Step Up 3D, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, G.I. Joe Retaliation) directs this adaptation of the classic Hasbro toy line and animated TV series, which takes enigmatic singer Jem and her group The Holograms into the social media age with a live-action reboot. Given how many brilliant properties have struggled to survive the whole modern update treatment, it sounds like Jem could be another casualty, especially considering the dubious talent on-board and focus on social media, even if Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis do muster some interest. How It Will Make A Profit: Chu's movies have consistently made tons of money over the years, and the combination of nostalgia for the original product with introducing a whole new generation to these characters will likely ensure the movie does just fine at the box office. Plus, it's being produced on a low budget by the Blumhouse label, who have a terrific history with making plenty of money on micro-budget films.
