15 Terrible Mistakes That Almost Ruined Terminator For Everyone
7. Goofy Humour (Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines)
If there's one universally-despised element of the third Terminator movie, it's the unnecessary addition of goofy humour. What director Mostow clearly misunderstood is that, though the second movie in particular featured plenty of humour, it was dark rather than silly. Here the humour is fully camp, resulting in two infamous scenes, as Arnie heads to a gay bar to acquire clothes and ends up with a pair of sparkly, Elton John-style sunglasses, and later when he shoplifts at a convenience store and tells the attendant to "talk to duh hand". After the more morbid humour of the previous two films, this is just goofy and cringe-inducing: who seriously thought this was something any self-respecting Terminator fan would want to see? Plus, it just tramples all over the dignity of Arnie's character(s). Somebody needs to make a fan edit with these two scenes removed.
