15 Terrible Recent Movies Destined To Become Cult Classics

13. Battleship

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 34% Why It Sucks: Peter Berg's lame attempt to ape Michael Bay is mind-meltingly stupid from top to bottom: the plot is kick-started by a chicken burrito (seriously), it's goofy but not particularly fun, and the alien designs are a blatant rip-off from Bungie's Halo video game series. All in all, it's incredibly noisy, overproduced and on the whole incredibly inane. Why It'll Become A Cult Classic: Because, if viewed with a few buddies and some (read: a lot) of beers, Battleship is a contemporary classic of camp blockbuster filmmaking, a wildly inept effort that's nevertheless tremendously amusing with the right crowd. The terrible script is full of guffaw-inducing clunkers, and, well, the scene in which Rihanna calls out co-ordinates in a homage to the board game "source material" is one of the most delightfully bizarre things ever seen in a $200+ million movie.
