15 Things In Harry Potter That Don't Make Sense
15. Quidditch
The world Harry Potter lives in is at times ridiculous, but there are some parallels that can be drawn to our world. One of these is the importance of sport. The UK has football, the US has the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL, and the wizarding world has Quidditch. The game is huge, wowing first year seekers to the World Cup, and of course die hard fans like the Weasleys.
As a game however, it actually makes little to no sense. The golden snitch, which when caught earns that seeker's team 150 points and ends the game immediately, renders every other ball and player essentially pointless. No matter what has happened in the game before, unless one team is ridiculously outplaying the other (the equivalent of winning a football game 15-0), the match will almost always be decided by that 150 points.
Unless you're Victor Krum anyway, who in the books decided to catch the snitch and end a World Cup final despite his team being down by more than 150, ultimately losing by just 10 points.
