15 Times The BAFTAs Corrected Huge Oscar Mistakes

13. Bohemian Rhapsody Loses Best Editing - 2019

Bohemian Rhapsody winning the Oscar for its editing is one of the strangest Oscar wins of the century since its editing, as was broken down in a YouTube video essay which the film's editor actually agreed with, is a godawful mess. Thankfully though, the BAFTAs avoided this mistake.

The BAFTA for Best Editing went to Vice, and although Vice is a bad film - in fact, it's worse than the merely mediocre Bohemian Rhapsody - its editing was easily its biggest asset, so fair enough.

If one was to be really nitpicky, First Man's editing really should've taken the BAFTA but in this case, anything other than Bohemian Rhapsody feels acceptable.
