Kevin Smith is a full-time podcast host who occasionally dips into moviemaking now, and often comes up with his concepts through a haze of pot smoke. That explains the existence of Tusk, where a podcast host gets turned into a walrus by a crazy dude, and it’s sort-of sequel Yoga Hosers.

The film follows two Canadian teens as they get into a “madcap” adventure involving sentient sausage men – played by Smith himself – and learn about Yoga. The tone of the movie is unbelievably grating and seems to mistake obnoxious gags for endearing zaniness.

Johnny Depp – under heavy make-up – reprises his cameo from Tusk, and he’s even worse here. Depp’s daughter plays one of the leads, so his involvement isn’t a huge shock, and apparently, he’ll return for the final part of Smith’s Canadian trilogy Moose Jaws; which is literally Jaws with a moose.
