Nicholas Winding Refn isn’t exactly a crowd-pleasing director, which is best demonstrated when he turned down A Good Day To Die Hard to make Only God Forgives, a movie so bleak and nihilistic it was hated out of existence by audiences; that said, it was way better than Die Hard 5.

The Neon Demon is a Black Swan-like horror fable about a teenage fashion model that gets sucked into a dark underworld where cannibalism, necrophilia and a very creepy Keanu Reeves reside. It’s a dreamy, haunting affair that doesn’t quite make sense, but if you can stomach the strange tone and gore, it’s a trip worth taking.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
