In the months leading up to Justice League's release, there was a lot of press devoted to so-called "Moustache-Gate". The controversy erupted after Henry Cavill had to perform reshoots on Justice League, but was already mid-shooting on Mission: Impossible 6, which required him to have a large, bushy moustache.

Paramount refused to allow Cavill to shave his moustache, creating a huge headache for Warner Bros. as they decided to go ahead with reshooting Cavill's scenes with the moustache, before digitally painting it out in post-production.

Unfortunately, the uneven results are painfully apparent in the final film, with Cavill's digital upper lip proving incredibly distracting throughout, especially during close-ups.

It goes without saying that, in any sane world, the film should've been delayed by a few months to allow Cavill to complete his M:I6 commitments and have a shave, but Warner Bros. was absolutely resolute about releasing Justice League in November at any and all costs. The end result, sadly, is quite the laughing stock.
