15 Worst Movie Moments Of 2017
11. Logan Is The New Apprentice - Jigsaw
The eighth Saw movie ends with the eye-rollingly predictable revelation that, yes, one of the new characters is yet another secret Jigsaw apprentice.
After forensic pathologist Logan (Matt Passmore) appears to be killed by a collar fitted with laser cutters, Detective Halloran (Callum Keith Renni) confesses to his various corrupt actions, seemingly deactivating his own collar and saving his own life.
However, moments later Logan stands up, having faked his death and revealing himself to be Jigsaw's very first apprentice from a decade ago. Logan will now be taking over as the new Jigsaw in the present day, while killing Halloran and framing him as Jigsaw.
From a continuity perspective it's a total mess, but beyond that, the "one more apprentice" twist is just head-smackingly lazy, not to mention a basic rehash of Saw IV's big reveal.
After seven years without a movie, fans were no doubt hoping for a final twist more imaginative than this. Hell, Jigsaw having a twin brother at least would've been more fun.
