15 Worst Movies Of 2015 (So Far)
1. Mortdecai
Rotten Tomatoes: 12%
If there was any justice in the world, the upcoming Black Mass would reinvent Johnny Depp's horribly flagging career so efficiently that everything he's made this decade (and a fair bit he made before). But even if that potential rebirth does manage to bleach away some of the poor memories, it's unlikely anyone is going to forget the freshest of his foul-ups for a good while.
Mortdecai is a tumble-down comedy caper that seems to think it's a modern Ealing Comedy, but comes across instead as more like the very worst Pink Panther sequels, with less brain.
Yes, it's admirable how committed Depp remains to his character - as he always does - but when the character is this appalling and the film so much of an endurance, all that does is make you judge the actor for not questioning his own restraints.
If this doesn't end up being the worst of the year - and that's some achievement with Paul Blart on the bill - then it's going to take a Herculean crapfest to dethrone it before 2016 turns in.
