15 Worst Performances In Star Wars Movies
1. Everyone In The Star Wars Holiday Special
Is the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special really that bad? No. It's worse. It's beyond scientific definitions of awful.
An atrocious, painfully dull story about Chewbacca's family inter-cut with many cringe-worthy comedy skits and bizarre scenes, this might be the worst thing that's ever aired on television. The weirdest thing about it is that most of the 1977 original's cast were in i... and all of them were humiliated.
Mark Hamill, complete with an incredibly weird hairdo, stares into the camera and talks in a thoroughly creepy manner, especially when he's seemingly flirting with Chewbacca's wife. Carrie Fisher sings a cringe-worthy Life Day (the Wookie equivalent of Thanksgiving) song to the tune of the Star Wars theme. Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels and James Earl Jones would clearly rather be literally anywhere else.
Everyone else also gives a toe-curling, genuinely hideous performance. This includes wooden imperial officers, Diahann Carroll being immeasurably cringe-worthy in what is, I s**t you not, essentially soft-core porn that Chewbacca's dad watches, Harvey Korman giving a trio of ridiculously unfunny performances as a malfunctioning droid, a man who drinks through his head and a four-armed alien chef, Beatrice Arthur being awful in an dreadful segment set in Mos Eisley Cantina... this is truly the lowest of the low.
The only ones to emerge with their dignity intact are Jefferson Starship, who do a perfectly OK musical performance. Otherwise... the performances here make every other performance on this list seem positively Oscar-worthy.
