There's no way Ghostbusters could ever have been judged on an even keel because of what it became. It was politicised from the minute it was marketed as an "all female remake" as sexist trolls rushed out to pre-condemn it.

Then came the second wave - of outraged anti-sexists giving it 5 stars without seeing it to balance. Which is like covering a turd in sugar and thinking it'll taste nice.

Fundamentally, the film deserves neither one star or five stars, but that doesn't even matter anymore. It's now gone down in history as an article of sexual warfare, which is a shame because it's bloody horrible.
