16 Horror Films Worth Getting Excited About In 2016

Halloween is (almost) back! One of the most exciting announcements for horror fans in recent history was the news of the upcoming Michael Myers movie, Halloween Returns.

Sure there were the Rob Zombie ones just a few years ago, but those aren't real Halloween films. Both of those entires removed absolutely any subtly from the franchise and explained that the mysterious Michael Myers is just evil because he grew up in an abusive household.

Halloween Returns will have nothing to do with the Zombie films, and in fact it's expected to take place in the same canon as the original series. It will pick up in modern times with Michael Myers on death row, but of course someone accidentally sets him free. Apparently the first two Halloween movies will be canon but the other sequels won't, which is a smart move considering how dumb the later ones became.

Well, supposedly that's what's happening. Recent news suggests the script is being dramatically rewritten, so who knows if it will even make the 2016 release date anymore, but there's still some hope that Michael will be back next year.

Oh, and after the last two Halloween movies were released in the summer for some stupid reason, can this one actually come out in October, please?
