16 Weirdest Horror Films You've Never Seen

7. The Body Shop (1973)

American Burger Movie
SWV

The Body Shop (aka Doctor Gore) is the perfect example of a bad movie gem. It includes all the little extras that separate mere bombs from the truly legendary turkeys and, like The Wizard Of Mars, just keeps getting worse and worse and weirder and weirder all the way to the end.

In the film, Dr. Don Brandon (J.G. Patterson Jr.) is a famous plastic surgeon and scientist whose wife Anitra, a prominent pin-up model, has just died in a car accident. Brandon decides to restore his dead wife and create "the perfect mate" in the process. With help from his bearded hunchback assistant Gregory (Roy Mehaffey), the two men dig up the wife's grave and attempt to bring their plain to fruition.

At no point does this film make any sort of coherent narrative sense. Why is there a random women with a chicken hat on? Why does Brandon threaten Greg to keep helping him when he has given no indication that he has ever thought of disobeying the good doctor? Why does the doctor continue to refer to corpses as "healthy" specimens? And most of all, why does this movie quote exist: "Get that, it might be the door. And put your coat on... so they don't know you're a hunchback."?
