Worth watching primarily for the great chemistry between the titular four brothers - Mark Wahlberg's Bobbie, Tyrese Gibson's Angel, Andre Benjamin's Jeremiah and Garrett Hedlund's Jack - John Singleton's entertaining crime drama sees the four adopted boys look to avenge their sweet, elderly mother's death. Never going to go down as a classic, the film is nevertheless a fitting showcase for the main cast's talent, with Chiwitel Ejiofor and Terence Howard too playing key roles. Bolstered by the electric wit and repartee of Wahlberg and co., Four Brothers also contains a couple of well staged set-pieces, with a car chase through snowy Detroit the stand out. Loosely based on the western classic, The Sons of Katie Elder, Singleton's (Boyz n the Hood) film is a great popcorn-watch, boasting a soundtrack from the likes of Jefferson Airplane, The Temptations, The Miracles, and Marvin Gaye to boot.
