4. The Inspiration For Mini-Mi Mini-Me may seem to many viewers to be a completely original creation. First appearing in the sequel Austin Powers the Spy Who Shagged Me, Mini-Me is introduced as a failed experiment attempt to clone Dr. Evil that resulted in a perfect clone except for the one fact that he was 1/8th the size of his source. Mini-Me is said to be inspired by a character from the 1996 film The Island of Dr. Moreau. The film stars Marlon Brando as Dr Moreau and 2 foot 4 inch tall actor Nelson Aquino de la Rosa portrays a miniature version of Dr Moreau called Majai. Mini-Me is very similar to Majai as both are a short copy of another character and just like Majai, Mini-Me is also a mute and doesn't speak throughout the entire film.
