20 Actors Who Just Gave Their Best Performance Ever
9. Jane Levy - A Little Prayer
Jane Levy is best known to many for her ferociously intense performances in horror films Evil Dead and Don't Breathe, but has also proven her tremendous acting range in comedy series Suburgatory and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, even receiving a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for the latter.
But in Angus MacLachlan's new drama A Little Prayer, Levy well and truly stepped into the cinematic dramatic big leagues as Tammy, a young woman who shares a unique bond with Bill (an also-brilliant David Strathairn), the father of her cheating husband David (Will Pullen).
Levy isn't merely playing an embattled. mistreated wife, though - there are hidden dimensions to Tammy which reveal themselves later, and Levy executes these shifts with tremendous grace.
Though Strathairn has received the lion's share of acclaim and awards buzz for his central performance of a father trying to set his son straight, Levy makes it abundantly clear she can hold her own against a celebrated veteran actor.
