20 Badass Arnold Schwarzenegger Quotes

3. Conan The Barbarian (1982)

Arnold Schwarzenegger Hamlet
Universal Pictures/20th Century Fox

"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women."

Arnold Schwarzenegger's breakthrough movie also sees the bodybuilder-turned-actor deliver one of the most memorable lines of his entire career, as well as offering some sage advice about what is best in life. Interestingly, the quote wasn't actually originally written for the movie's script, but was adapted from a book about Genghis Khan.

While shooting the breeze with a couple of Mongols, one of the generals poses the question of "What is best in life?". The first answer of "The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair" is met with a cry of "Wrong!" before Conan (the teacher's pet) gives the correct, and instantly iconic answer, one that would serve him well over the course of his career in barbarianism.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
