6. All Over The World
The Mockingjay films introduced new areas around Panem that had never been seen before. New districts were explored, the Capitol was invaded, and we got a look into District 13 itself for the very first time.
Two US states had been used previously to explore the Panem scenery. A few locations across North Carolina and Georgia were used to bring Suzanne Collins’ brainchild to life, but the set soon branched out to encompass Hawaii in order to film beach scenes in Catching Fire.
Mockingjay was another story — that’s right, the Girl on Fire went continental! In order to shoot the cityscapes and architectural wonders of the Capitol, the crew took trips to both Germany and France. Who would have thought one country would require such a range?
