20 Best Comedy Film Sequels Of All-Time

9. The Inbetweeners 2

It was hard not to be concerned for the likes of The Inbetweeners 2 during the build-up to its release; after all, the first movie (which in itself was a sequel to the British Channel 4 TV series of the same name) did an excellent job of tying up the loose ends associated with hapless foursome Will, Simon, Jay and Neil, in a movie that was both heartfelt and funny. It was also a huge box office smash - and deservedly so. With a great legacy behind it, though, there was a sense of "do we need another film?" lingering in the air. So whilst another installment could have ruined everything, The Inbetweeners 2 - with its Australia-set hijinks - turned out pretty darn good; perhaps not as well as the first movie, but there are laughs, some heartfelt moments - not to mention expected instances of ridiculousness, smuttiness and unrelenting crudity. All in all, it was everything an Inbetweeners movie sequel should have been - even if, by the time the credits are rolling, you feel entirely done with the franchise and its associated characters.
