20 Best Female Characters In Comic Book Movies - Ranked

9. Harley Quinn

Comic Book Females
Warner Bros. Pictures

It speaks volumes for the quality of Margot Robbie's performance as Harley Quinn that she should transcend the leering, the bad writing and the general icky-ness of it all to rate so high on this list. Indeed, a live-action Harley Quinn could have gone so much worse (see the Arkham videogames), so it's something of a relief that the Harleen Quinzel we did get is so tolerable.

Thankfully not doing the voice (an aspect of the character which has only ever worked in The Animated Series), Robbie's take channels the wounded, damaged victim of Harley while also letting the girl have some fun. Thankfully excised along with most of Mr. J himself, her abusive relationship with the Clown Prince of Crime is a problem for another day. The extended cut, maybe?
